Christian Students at UCI Retreat

My husband and I had a chance to join a little retreat Christian Students at UCI had over the weekend. Ah, the memories of being a college student, young and full of energy! We had some fellowship in the Word, encouragement to spend time in prayer and to read the Word, and of course, games!

I was touched by Ezekiel 36:26 “I will also give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” Those who believe into God have been given a new heart, a heart that can now love God and the things of God. Before I had no inclination toward God or what He desired, but because I received Him into me He gave me a new heart and I love Him and what He loves. He also put a new spirit within us. Previously, my spirit, which was deadened because of sin, the sin that came in through Adam and Eve being tricked by Satan to eat of the fruit in Genesis chapter 1, is now enlivened. Now I can receive God and contact God! Wonderful! The God that created the heavens and the earth and is so great is receivable and “contactable!” Is that not  amazing? The God of the universe is closer than we think! And, He wants to be closer to us then we can ever imagine! Now that is a God I hardly hear about!

Bible Reading Challenge…

Ever heard of Medic Ball? You make balls out of newspaper and masking tape. Each team has a medic which only that teams knows and is able to “heal” players who have been hit. Goal is to hit every member, especially the medic. Last team standing wins.
